Andy has been involved in full-time ministry for over 10 years.
During that time Andy has served as a youth and associate pastor as well as traveling as an itinerant evangelist.
Andy's wife, Tammy, is an accomlished vocalist and has been faithful in ministry during that time as well.
In May of 2001, Andy left the staff of a large and growing church to travel full-time equipping Christians for personal evangelism.
Andy and Tammy live with their two sons in the Detroit area.
Andy has a burning desire to help train and equip Christians and churches to effectively bring the lost around them to a place of genuine repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
The Institute of American Church Growth found that 75-90% of all new believers came to Christ because of a friend or acquaintance who explained the Gospel to them on a one-to-one basis.
Approximately only 17% of all conversions come through "events", i.e. a Sunday morning church service, a Billy Graham crusade, a Friendship Sunday, etc., yet it has been found that most churches devote most of their time, money and efforts on these kinds of events.
Time and experience has proven that personal evangelism is by far the single most effective means of reaching the lost.
But tragically, it seems to be the most seldom practiced means of reaching the lost utilized by the Church and Christians today.
Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, estimates that only 2% of Christians witness faithfully.
It is for these reasons, and others, that Andy has organized a teaching ministry called the Search & Rescue School of Evangelism.
The purpose of the Search & Rescue School of Evangelism is to "prepare God's people for works of service" (Ephesians 4:12) by teaching Biblical and practical principles of evangelism.
Solomon said in Proverbs 11:30 "…he who wins souls is wise."
In other words, it takes wisdom and understanding to be effective in evangelism.
It takes knowledge to be effective and successful at anything.
The work of evangelism is no different.
Most Christians know that they should be working to reach the lost, but many do nothing because they feel untrained and ill equipped.
Charles Spurgeon once said, "We must school and train ourselves to deal personally with the unconverted.
We must not excuse ourselves, but force ourselves to the irksome task until it becomes easy."
Every Christian should determine in their hearts to become lifetime students and practitioners of personal evangelism, and pastors should offer their congregations opportunities to be equipped and prepared to effectively obey the Great Commission (Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20).
The Search & Rescue School of Evangelism can be conducted during just one day of training or it can spread out over a number of days.
A comprehensive workbook is provided that is full of scriptures, notes, statistics, quotes and more.
Subjects such as the true nature of evangelism, how and why to use the Ten Commandments in witnessing, how to use tracts and much more are all taught during the school.
Creative ministry ideas are given that can inspire congregations to pray and consider how they might be able to more effectively and consistently evangelize their city and communities.
Transfired Ministries is also invloved in writing and producing Gospel tracts.
Transfired Tracts are unique, creative, and contain a simple yet powerful salvation message.
A number of Transfired Tracts have already been produced and are ready for purchase.
New tracts, and other ministry resources, are continually being produced for use in evangelism and personal discipleship.
