The Good Test (redesigned)

Thank you for taking this test. Please read the following questions carefully. Be honest and listen to your conscience.

Would you consider yourself to be a good person?
Most people do. The Bible says this in Proverbs 20:6 “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness”. Let’s see if you qualify as being a good person:

Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, irrespective of its value? Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Jesus said, “I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Matthew 5:28) Have you ever hated anyone? The Bible says that if someone hates another person they are a murderer (I John 3:15). Have you ever taken God’s name in vain? Have you ever used the name of God or Jesus Christ as a curse word or to express your emotions?

If you have answered “Yes” to the previous questions, then you have admitted that you are: 1.) A liar 2.) A thief 3.) An adulterer 4.) A murderer 5.) A blasphemer, and you have only looked at five of the Ten Commandments, which is God’s standard of judgment. If God were to judge you by this standard would you be: 1.) Innocent 2.) Guilty? You know you would be guilty. God has warned that He will punish everyone who breaks His law and exclude them from heaven (I Corinthians 6:9-10). God’s punishment is eternal torment in hell (Revelation 21:8).

Do you still think you are a good person or do you now understand that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23, I John 3:4) who desperately needs salvation and forgiveness? Now do you understand why Jesus Christ came to the earth and even though He lived a perfect life He died on the cross and rose again? He died a criminal’s death not because He had broken the law, but because we had. Romans 5:8 “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God loves you so much that He sent His Son to take the punishment that you deserve (John 3:16, II Corinthians 5:21).

What should you do? To be forgiven by God and go to heaven you must repent (confess your sins, be specific, and turn from them) and put your complete faith in Jesus Christ alone (Acts 20:21). Put your faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord the same way you would put your faith in a parachute if you had to jump from a burning plane in mid-air. It’s the only thing that will save you (John 3:26)! Then read the bible daily and obey what you read.
