In order to see Kabeer and the Green Bay Packers play football you would need a ticket to get into the game. Tickets are required so that people have access to restricted places. Like many other places, heaven has restricted access as well (Matthew 7:21). Most people think their ticket to heaven is to be a good person. Would you consider yourself a good person? Most people do. Answer the following questions honestly and listen to your conscience. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, irrespective of its value? Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Jesus said that doing that is the same as committing adultery with them (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever hated anyone? If you have, the Bible says that you are a murderer (I John 3:15). If you have answered “Yes” to these questions then you are a liar, a thief, an adulterer and a murderer and you will be found guilty on Judgment Day (Hebrew 9:27, Revelation 21:8). These are only four of the Ten Commandments, which is God’s standard of judgment. If you die in your sins you will be condemned to eternal punishment in hell for your crimes against God. God loves you and doesn’t want that to happen. That is why He sent Jesus to suffer and die on the cross (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). You broke God’s law (Romans 3:23, I John 3:4), but Jesus paid your fine. Your only ticket to heaven is Jesus Christ (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). To be forgiven and go to heaven you must repent of your sins and put your complete faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21). To repent means, like a contrite and guilty criminal, you come before God and confess your sins to Him (be specific). It also means that you turn away from your sins, ask for forgiveness and receive the gift of the only acceptable payment, Jesus’ death and resurrection. To place your faith in Jesus means that you put all of your trust in Him to save you the same way you would place your complete trust in a parachute if you had to jump from a burning plane in midair. You realize that Jesus Christ is the only One who can save you (John 3:36). Just pray from your heart. Do this today before it’s too late! Then begin to read the Bible daily and obey what you read.
